RECOLLECTIONS: War Whoop asks students about electives

Students talk about elective choices they have made and the advantages of those choices.

WW: What’s your favorite part about being in the elective you’re in?

Jasmine Whitzel: I joined computer maintenance because I needed a computer, so I thought I could build one myself.

Stacy Loewen: My favorite thing about Family Consumer Science is eating all the food we get to make.

Heidi Klassen: The best part of choir has to be the state solo and ensemble trip. We have so much fun.

Mason Griffin: Speech teaches you how to be more confident in public speaking. We have a lot of fun and we eat good food.

Madison Wood: (Band) I like playing music and getting to be around all my friends.

Felix Garcia: (Auto mechanics) We work on cars and learn how to maintain them.

Andrea Garcia: I love being able to express myself through my art work.

Chelsea Thiessen: In Woods, I’m making a baby crib for my mom.

Tonya Sodd: In theater, I get to be with people I love and do what I love. I get to mess around on stage, and that’s my favorite.

Zach Mendoza: (A/V production) I love making videos in that class. It’s so much fun.

Joden Williams: I love stockshows. We get to miss school and hang out with all our friends.

Annie Klassen: I love working with hair.

Crystal Fehr: Journalism helped me get over my fear of talking to people. I get the chance to experience things like going places to compete. I also get to help record the history of some of the best years of our lives. I also learned editing which helped me a lot on my TAKS tests. Journalism is a beneficial class and it’s very fun.
