Speech and debate wins sweepstakes in San Angelo

The forensics team took sweepstakes at the San Angelo Central meet on Feb. 11.

In poetry sophomore Jadon Hatley was second, junior Bryan Rickman was fourth, senior Jasmine Torres was fifth, sophomore Shawn Barndollar was sixth.

In prose senior Mason Griffin was second, Torres was third, senior Angela Sims was fourth, sophomore Christian Tovar was sixth.

In foreign extemporaneous speaking, senior Haylee Dodson was fifth, senior Zach Mendoza was sixth.

In cross-examination debate, the team of junior Kevin Wallace and Barndollar was first, the team of senior Mason Griffin and junior Trey Dodson was second, and H. Dodson and senior D.J. Rickman was third.

In dramatic duo, Griffin and Hatley were first, Sims and B. Rickman were third, junior Tonya Sodd and Barndollar were sixth.

In humorous interpretation senior Brooklynn James was fourth, Sims was sixth.

In dramatic interpretation Torres was fourth, Griffin was fifth, James was sixth.

In duet acting, Sims and B. Rickman were third, Hatley and James were fourth.

In impromptu speaking Mendoza was fifth.

Hatley was named outstanding in interpretation.

Barndollar, WAllace, Mendoza qualified for Texas Forensics Association state.
