One-act play advances to regionals along with 12 individual event qualifications

The one-act play “Golden Boy” advanced to regionals along with Andrews’s play from area competition on April 8 in Plainview.

Junior Madison Burtch and senior Jadon Hatley were best actress and actor. Junior Kyle Rickman, senior Shawn Barndollar and sophomore Blayne Childers were all-star cast, while junior John Paul Sales was honorable mention.

Other regional-qualifying individuals include: sophomore Cassandra Schultz (third) in current issues and events, junior Sarah Patterson (first) in headlines, senior Andrew Johnson (first) in informative speaking, Schultz (first) in Lincoln-Douglas debate, Barndollar (first) in persuasive speaking, junior Abe Harder (second) in persuasive speaking, Hatley (third) in persuasive speaking, Hatley (first) in poetry, senior Christian Tovar (second) in poetry, Childers (first) in prose, senior Lyle Reimer (first) in ready writing, and senior Zack Murphy with the top biology score in science.

Regionals will be held at Texas Tech University on May 1, 2, 3.
